Funerals

At All Saints’ we believe that it is very important to say goodbye to loved ones, and to thank God for their lives, in as personal a way as possible. A Christian funeral gives an excellent opportunity to do this together with dignity and care.

All of our ministers are available for funerals, which can be conducted in church or at one of our local crematoria or cemeteries. Our Memorial Garden is also available for burial of ashes.

Our ministers usually make funeral arrangements directly with Funeral Directors. We ask that the Funeral Director contact the Vicar directly, or one of our other ministers if the family has requested him/her, before fixing a date and time for a service, so that we can ensure that we are available. We will always visit the deceased’s family to ensure that they receive the care they need and to put together a personal service. We visit and stay in contact after the funeral, and can arrange longer term bereavement visiting or counselling if that is something you would value.

We encourage everyone to think about their own funeral arrangements and to make their wishes known to their next of kin. Any of our ministers would be happy to talk you through how to do this.
