We have a wide range of groups, events, trips and services for young people in school years 7–13. Our youth worker Lucy Thomas also works in our local schools.
On Sunday evenings from 4pm to 6.30pm we have youth groups which meet in the hall to have lots of fun. The first group is for school years 7 – 9 and runs from 4pm – 5.30pm. The second group is for school years 10+ and runs from 5pm – 6.30pm. We typically enjoy a meal with both groups together, and separately do Bible studies where we look at topics which are relevant to young people – from how to pray, to relationships, alcohol, mental health and how to be a Christian in school. We also join in games together, like card games and balloon stomp!
Services and events
Throughout the year we run a number of events and trips, both on our own and together with other churches. These include youth services, alternative Halloween parties, weekend trips and special events such as Rock Solid which is a weekend away for years 7 – 9. To find out the dates for these trips and events please use the contact details below.
Soul Survivor is a 5-day Christian youth event during the summer holidays, which we always go to with other churches from the local area. There are thousands of young people, stacks of tents, worship, teaching, ministry, cafés, seminars – which cover a wide range of topics relevant to young people – gigs, sports programs, dance venues, and a cinema! Tickets cost between £97 and £117, depending on when you book, and food and travel costs around £80. It’s a lot of fun and a great experience to learn, grow and meet other young people!
We run courses for young people through the academic year. Youth Alpha is for young people who are looking to explore the Christian faith and get a greater understanding of what it’s about. Growing Young Leaders is for those with an established faith who are wanting to grow their leadership skills.
To hear more about any of these, to receive a schedule of what events, trips and courses are coming up, or to ask any questions please contact Lucy Thomas.
